Dr. Kerry, I like how you related this to Dao. What brainwave state do you think the Uncarved Block represents?

I've been working with NP2 for the past two years or so; it's also helped me immensely with my sleep disorder and I also use some sessions while meditating.

I am so pleased to have encountered a site like this-- I'm almost a doctor now (waiting for final results) and I've been interested in neuro-cognitive science practically all my life.

I've been working with brainwave entrainment for quite some time myself and am going to be starting research soon on optimal frequencies and amplitudes that would lead to the most near-ideal entrainment session for drug dependencies at a local drug rehabilitation centre.

Can we get in touch somehow? I would really very much like to discuss a lot of things with you, and it's so very refreshing finding a doctor with the same explorative tendencies (id et, areas of particular interest: nootropes, for example) as myself. I think I could learn a lot from you.

Never too late Rick! Awesome and very insightful observation.
I am quite familiar the role thalamocortical dysfunction plays in Parkinson's Disease. I ask all of my PD patients to experiment with music therapy for that reason. Check out the link below. You will be pleasantly surprised to find other research scientists exploring this relationship. I would encourage you to continue your experimentation. It can only help. Cheers!

This is a little late, but you may be interested in my own observations on this one. I have Parkinson's and actively experiment on myself. Brain wave entrainment is one of the areas of exploration. I use a shareware program called "Brainwave Generator" and record the output to mp3's.

Among the features of PD is a dysfunction of rhythm in the system. Music partially corrects this. A typical PWP can dance when he can't walk, for example. And the much vaunted DBS brain surgery is basically a metronome restoring some order where there was chaos.

My own experience has been most striking in the early morning before medications begin to work. Tremor of the right hand and toe-curling dystonia of the left foot are my usual companions and the latter can be quite painful. Normally the tremor subsides in about 30 minutes and the dystonia in about 15.

However, with a tone over a wide range centered on 6 Hz, both effects are gone within three minutes and it has never failed. Unfortunately, if I start moving around the tremor returns.

Thanks Kerry.Awesome stuff.Do you see patients for neurofeedback in your office? If so,I would be very interested. I do get that I need to get out of the way in order for the brain to heal itself.Just have not figured it out yet. Please if yo can assist, let me know.
Love and Life,

Dr. K -this is about the best approach to health on an integral level I've seen yet. Spiral dynamics is about the only thing I've not yet seen you touch on, yet.
Wondering if you've encountered the research on the heart waves mapping at same frequency if two individuals are within 7 feet of each other. Emotions also -have frequency and therefore color. Not so odd then that Dr. Spoc's medical scanner was checking for dis-ease via calibration of the vibrations and colors in his hand held device. I hear there are docs using the approach of a frequency grid ( energy fields/frequencies vary by organ and limb in the body) for identifying and restoring health to those whose electronics have been impacted by some physical or emotional trauma. would welcome references to further reading, authors, research or anything to if you're aware of such. thanks for all you're doing.
